Senior leaders of the Communist Party of India (CPI) on Saturday demanded a CBI probe into the cold-blooded political murder of Chhatrapur CPI leader Sakura Behera.
At a protest meeting at Chhatrapur, leaders condemned the reign of terror let loose by the BJD in the State in general and Chhatrapur in particular as the ruling party is “determined” to finish the democratic movement and protests by political parties in a democratic manner.
A delegation handed over a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minster to the district Collector. The memorandum made three demands, CBI inquiry into the murder of Sakura Behera, immediate arrest of the murderers and controlling of law and order situation in Ganjam district.
Senior leaders like CPI State secretary Dibakara Navak, CPI(M) State Secretariat member Ali Kishore Pattanaik, CPI National Council member Ramakrushna Panda and former MlAs Biswanath Sahu and N Narayan Reddy addressed the gathering.
