Taking a serious view of a team of police visiting Pankaj Mahakud’s house in Kenojhar to record his statement in connection with the harassment case lodged by his ‘wife,’ Commissioner of Police (CP) YB Khurania on Monday said he would personally examine under what circumstances the Investigating Officer (IO) visited Mahakud’s house.
Mahila police station IIC and IO of the case Bijayinee Malla had on Fridayvisited Champua MlA Sanatan Mahakud’s son Pankaj Mahakud’s house in Keonjhar to record his statement.
His statement was recorded after Kavita Mahakud had approached the Mahila police claiming that Pankaj and Sanatan had harassed her.
Though the IO had issued summons to Pankaj last month to appear before it within a week, but he did not turn up.
“The entire issue will be examined. Who had asked the IO to visit Pankaj Mahakud’s house, why she went and under what circumstances she preferred to record his statement at his house even though a summon was issued will be probed,” said Khurania.
Sources said Pankaj had denied the allegation levelled against him and his father by Kavita.
