Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty on Friday felicitated a youth, Subrat Ojha, for his courageous act of chasing and nabbing miscreants, who had looted a gold chain from his mother in the city on Wednesday.
“Your courage and presence of mind resulted in the recovery of the snatched gold chain and apprehension of the robbers. Your act of valour is not only praiseworthy but places you as a role model for others,” the Commissionerate police (CP) felicitation letter stated.
Notably, Subrat and his mother Manorama were travelling in an auto-rickshaw on Canal Road in Bomikhal area under the Mancheswar police station in the city, when three bike-borne miscreants snatched away a gold chain from the neck of the woman and tried to flee from the spot on a motorcycle.
But Subrat chased the trio and nabbed two of the snatchers with the help of locals.
