Vaccination against Covid-19 started at the PPT Hospital on Tuesday for the healthcare workers and frontline workers being inaugurated by Additional District Magistrate, Paradip, Kanhu Charan Dhir and PPT Deputy Chairman Asish Kumar Bose in the presence of the officers and employees of the PPT Medical Department.
A total of 100 of the hospital’s healthcare workers and frontline workers got immunised. The first shot was given to Chief Medical Officer Dr Prahallad Panda, who said he took the first vaccination to allay fear of other healthcare and frontline workers as well as others and to stop the rumor mongers spreading misinformation about the efficacy of the vaccine.He said the Covid-19 vaccination had been eagerly awaited to prevent the spread of the virus by creating HERD immunity in the community. As per the Government guidelines, in first phase, the healthcare workers and frontline workers are being immunised.
