The Covid-19 patients and their relatives are running from pillar to post to get correct information and treatment, etc.

Allegations are pouring in from several areas stating neither the health authorities here, nor the district administration is helping them in time of crisis when the health  authorities continue to maintain there is no bed available in the standalone Covid Hospital.

A  37- year -old woman of the town narrating her ordeals stated  that she and her 11- year-old son were detected positive when her husband was away at his service place.

“I am in a rented accommodation here residing along with my son. We both were detected  positive by rapid antigen tests following symptoms on Monday in DHH.  None advises us what to do.  Disgusted with the delay, by evening we returned to our home  informing the staff of DHH   that we would be in home quarantine. Till  Wednesday  evening  neither   anyone contacted  us nor  anybody gave us medicines and kits  etc  except one call from the control room. Only yesterday, medicines were received from the local health workers.  Since my husband is away I  am deeply disturbed,” she told.

Another man, who is associated with the health department  and a resident of Remuna  alleged  that he and his father were detected positive and  both were admitted in the Covid Hospital at Baleswar. "We were discharged after a week. After returning from the hospital, my father had a fever again. Fearing relapse of the disease, we  were worried and contacted the local healthcare unit as well as the DHH and others concerned, but sadly none responded," he told.

Kin of a deceased  alleged, "Even after the death of my father  we have received calls twice from two different  agencies  inquiring about our father's health even though  intimating  he had  died which was  very disturbing.  This seems that there is no coordination and proper documentation."
