The State Government has not banned movement of corona patients to Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, said Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Wednesday while clarifying the Government’s previous order to officials directing them not to rush Covid-19 cases to the twin city.
Tripathy said the Government has created advanced Covid Hospital facilities in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for people of the entire State.
The Government is only regulating to ensure that the patients travel safe and with proper medical advice, arrangements and oxygen support. He further stated that carelessness on these matters in the past has affected patients seriously. Reference of the patients with proper medical support would be helpful in further management of the disease at referral points and would save their lives, he added.
Meanwhile, the Government has decided to clinically discharge patients after 10 days from the date of sample collection, given that he has no symptoms for the last three days.
The decision was taken in view of the shortage of beds in dedicated Covid Hospitals here. Notably, the twin city is a Covid hotspot with 2,193 and 4,568 active cases, respectively, till Tuesday.
