A patient undergoing treatment at a Covid Hospital in Nabarangpur district escaped from the healthcare unit, informed district Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra on Monday.
The patient is a resident of the Umarkote area. After suspected Covid-19 symptoms were spotted in him during medical examination at a hospital, swab samples of him had been sent for tests. When the test reports showed he is Covid-19 positive on June 3, he was admitted to the Covid Hospital at Nabarangpur.
As per a complaint filed by the hospital superintendent, the patient jumped out of the hospital wall and fled.
So far, a total of 79 persons from the district have tested Covid-19 positive.
