The much-awaited Covid Hospital in the VIMSAR campus at Burla is going to be functional soon to meet the growing needs of the patients not only from Sambalpur district but from all over the region.
“The new ward consisting of 100 beds and 20 ICUs will be functional in the first week of October. We can accommodate more patients henceforth,” said Medical Superintendent Dr Jayashree Dora.
“After the visit of the Chief Secretary and Health Secretary to Burla to take stock of the situation here, a 100-bedded hospital was proposed by them for which works are going on a war-footing under the direct supervision of district Collector Subham Saxena, Dora added.
“The Collector on Wednesday visited the hospital to ensure that the work completes as early as possible.
He also instructed VIMSAR Director Dr Lalit Meher, Dean Dr. BM Mishra, Nodal Officer Dr Sudarshana Pothal to see that the works get completed as early as possible even before the targeted date of October first week,” Dora added.
When contacted, the Collector said that all are doing their duties with all sincerity and a new and sophisticated hospital would be in place here just after a short while to meet the current requirements.
