The family members of a deceased Covid patient have alleged that the patient was cremated without their knowledge. They said they could know about the death after 12 days of her admission in hospital.
In this regard, they lodged an FIR in Bargaon police station. The daughter of deceased demanded that district Collector return body of her mother, since her mother could not get well in the hospital and her body was cremated illegally. According to sources, on April 14, Chandra Kisan of Bargaon had fallen ill and she was taken to Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). During her treatment from April 14 to April 16 in hospital, she was diagnosed with Covid and thereafter, she was admitted in Sundargarh NTPC Covid hospital on April 17.
On April 29, Chandra’s brother-in-law (husband’s younger brother) and her daughter, Basanti went to NTPC Covid hospital to know about her health condition and were shocked to know that Chandra had died on April 19 in hospital and her body was cremated. The Bargaon police have made a station diary of complaint of Basanti.
