Covid death audit to be completed in 15 days

The ongoing audit on the deaths due to Covid-19 in the State would be completed in next 10 to 15 days, informed Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET) Dr CBK Mohanty on Wednesday.

“The Government is sharing the details of the confirmed death cases daily following due completion of the audit process. It will be completed within 10 or 15 days. We are providing the single-day toll report after reviewing from all angles,” Dr Mohanty told reporters.

On the daily Covid-19 cases in the State, he said that many people are not following Covid-appropriate behaviour. Despite a decline in the infection rate, the test positivity rate (TPR) is still above 5 per cent in a few districts, he said.

As to when the Covid-induced restrictions like lockdown would be unlocked, Dr Mohanty said, “Normally, an unlock process is made in a staggering manner. The decision for unlocking the State completely will be taken after analysing the reports on the virus transmission rate and people’s adherence to Covid guidelines,” he said

while suggesting for extension of the Covid restrictions for next few days.
