The first dedicated COVID Hospital in Baleswar district became operational on Monday. The unit having 120 beds was opened at the Jyoti Hospital at Kuruda.
The hospital is funded by the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC).
District Headquarters Hospital senior doctor Dulalsen Jagdeo is the In-Charge Medical Officer of the hospital.
Also on the day, a 150-bed COVID Hospital was inaugurated in Jeypore town in Koraput district with the building of the old Sub-Divisional Hospital being converted into the new facility.
While doctors would be accommodated at two hotels in the town, the paramedics would stay at the newly-built local Vikram Dev College.
