A court here on Thursday sentenced three accused to undergo five years of imprisonment each in connection with the firing on Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Maheshwar Mohanty in the holy town in 2014.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court here awarded five years’ imprisonment to Amit Bikram Harichandan, Satyanaryan Panigrahi and loknath Mishra. The court also asked them to pay a fine of Rs 500 each and, in default, to undergo two moths’ additional imprisonment.
However, the court acquitted three more accused in the case.
