The Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) here on Thursday admitted a defamation complaint filed by Nalini Acharya, mother of gangster Raja Acharya who is undergoing life imprisonment for the murder of judo coach Biranchi Das, against the makers of the Saif Ali-starrer film Bullett Raja.

The court also issued notices to the opposite parties to appear before it on November 25, Acharya’s counsel said. Nalini Acharya claims that the film is based on the story of her son and is defamatory in nature. She filed the libel suit for Rs 7 crore against the film’s director-producer Tigmanshu Dhullia, Fox Star Studio India Pvt ltd and actor Saif Ali Khan on Wednesday.

Acharya’s counsel Swagat Ray informed that after the submission of all documents, the court admitted the case for hearing.  “An interim order from the court is awaited,” Ray said, adding the court would give its decision after seven days. Nalini Acharya, a resident of F/13, BJB Nagar, in her petition has prayed to the court to declare the movie illegal, stop its release throughout the country and order the filmmakers to pay Rs 7 crore towards the damage caused to the reputation of her family.

She filed the case after several people told her that the film is based on her son’s story, she has stated.
