Couple arrested for assaulting Soro doc

In another such incident in Baleswar district, the Soro police on Saturday arrested and court-forwarded a couple on the charge of assaulting a doctor at the Soro Community Health Centre (CHC) on Friday.

The arrested were identified as Kailash Behera (47) and his wife Gitilata Behera (40). They had assaulted Dr Debasis Nayak alleging negligence in treatment of one Jagannath Das (34) of Talanagar. Jagannath had consumed poison. 

As his condition deteriorated, Jagannath had been referred to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Baleswar.  “The couple was arrested on the charge of assaulting a doctor on duty and have been forwarded to court,” said Soro PS IIC Parsuram Sahoo.
