The Utkal Bharat has alleged that the corruption situation is worsening in Gajapati district by the day. Even after 21 years of formation of the district, the hapless tribal people are still deprived of the benefits under various schemes of the Government, alleged MlA candidate of the party for the Parlakhemundi constituency Amit Kumar Patnaik in a Press release.
“Most of the major Governmental offices are functioning only on paper. The signboards of most of both Government and non-Government organisatins in charge of developmental schemes are not written in Odia,” rued Amit Kumar Patnaik in the statement.
Gajapati is a tribals-dominated region and huge amounts of funds under various schemes are being provided by the Centre. But the funds are being spent only on paper and diverted for other purposes, he further alleged. Besides, the conditions of most of the educational and health institutes in the district are also deteriorating.
