The stigma associated with Covid-19 forced a family member of a young businessman, who died after suffering from fever on Monday, to carry his body by a trolley-rickshaw to crematorium in the Buguda NAC area of Ganjam district.
After relatives refused to shoulder the youth’s body, his family member hired the trolley and carried it. As the youth’s swab samples were not sent for tests, relatives did not shoulder his body suspecting his death due to Covid-19.
A local said many people died in past week after suffering from fever. There has been panic among the locals following these deaths.
