The Odisha Private School Bikash Parishad has urged the State Government to issue Certificate of Recognition (CoR) to private schools despite not fulfilling some minor conditions.
The Parishad said due to not having the CoR from the State Government, about 2,503 private schools are passing through uncertainty. They are not able to register students in 25% of their seats for free online education, which is an RTE norm. Similarly, the students in these schools are unable to register them for appearing exams for Navodaya Vidyalayas or Adarsha Schools and also for scholarship.
Parishad president Umakanta Swain, executive president Ramesh Chandra Khuntia and general secretary Smruti Ranjan Parida, among others, were present in a Press meet.
