The Kendrapada town police on Wednesday took notorious gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito on remand for two more days.
The SDJM Court here allowed the cops to take him on the fresh remand after he was produced before it by the Marsaghai police earlier in the day.
Sources said the gangster would be interrogated in connection with the abduction of a contractor in the district, Siba Parida.
In September 2017, three motorcycle-borne miscreants, who were suspected to be aides of Tito, had kidnapped the contractor from his residence at Kaajala village in the district. However, he was released unharmed on the same day.
Source said the Marsaghai police which had taken Tito on two days remand before have reopened two murder cases pending against the gangster.
Tito was arrested following an encounter on June 30 at Chandikhol in Jajpur district by the Special Task Force (STF) of State Crime Branch.
