Alleging disrespect to the Mahaprasad of the Jagannath Temple, a complaint was lodged at the Singhadwara police station here against two police personnel on Monday.
The complaint was filed by the Shree Jagannath Bhakta Parishad after a video of the two policemen having Mahaprasad while wearing shoes and sitting on a bench in the temple premises went viral on social media. The Shree Jagannath Bhakta Parishad threatened to stage protest in front of the Puri SP office if stringent action is not taken against the two police personnel within seven days.
Notably, another video of some police personnel taking Mahaprasad at the Gundicha Temple during the last Rath Yatra had gone viral on social media. But the district administration is yet to take any action against the concerned policemen.
