The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate here on Wednesday allowed police to take ISI spy accused Iswar Behera on a seven-day remand for further investigation. Iswar, a contractual photographer of the Chandipur-based ITR, was arrested on January 23. He has been staying in Balasore Jail under judicial custody since then.
The police had prayed the SDJM Court to allow them to take Iswar on a 14-day remand, informed Baleswara Sadar SDPO PC Badjena. “The court allowed police to take Iswar Behera on a seven-day till February 3. He would be produced in the court after the remand period,” said Assistant Public Prosecutor Arun Behera.
