After the Kunduli ‘gangrape’ survivor expressed interest to meet her family members, they tried to meet her at the short stay home where she is presently lodged, on Wednesday, but the police denied them permission.
The family members protested the police’s act, which led to an unpleasant situation. To prevent any untoward incident, additional police personnel were deployed at the spot.
The girl’s mother alleged that her daughter’s medical report has been tampered with the connivance of the doctors. She accused the police of bribing the doctors to prepare a fabricated report.
Her daughter should be medically examined at some other place to unearth the truth, she demanded.
The brother of the girl also spoke on similar lines, saying there are swellings on her body and she should be examined by doctors at some other place. There seems to be a nexus between the doctors treating her and the police.
All this has again put a question mark on the police modus operandi because since long the girl’s family members have been alleging that the police instead of taking action against the culprits are harassing them and questioning them on different pretexts.
Notably, some counsellors, who had met the girl recently, had said that her interaction with her
family members could reduce the trauma she is going through.
