Cops decry 'false' news on girl's rescue

Published on:

Irked at “false” information published in a section of the media, the Bamebari police have urged newspapers not to publish concocted stories about a minor girl rescued by them from her abductor recently.

The police in a statement on Monday said the girl has not told them that she was ill-treated in any manner by policeman Biju Naik. But a section of the media has published that she was misbehaved by Naik.

“We urge all not to publish any imaginary and baseless story regarding the girl. The case is sub-judies now,” the police statement said.
