Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi on Saturday launched a new citizen portal called Close User Group (CUG) enabling the needy to interact directly with the SP and the concerned Inspectors of the police stations.
Under the CUG, all the 24 police stations of the district would have one permanent mobile number operated by the Inspector of the police station besides the fixed land line numbers.
The Inspectors would be able to open the e-mails and complaint portalsand act accordingly. The SP has special mobile number 94389 16390 in which he only can open the complaint box.
This apart, one could interact with the SP and other concerned officials through website Puripolice.nic.in or Facebook and e-mail.
The system is part of the State wide Crime Criminal Networking System (CCNS) being executed by the State police and Puri police implementedit first, Sarangi said.
The SP distributed 22 tablets to the Inspectors of various police stations in the district. A total of 62 complaints were received, out of which most related to loss of mobile phones, Sarangi said.
