The BJP on Tuesday alleged before DGP KB Singh that police have become a tool in the ruling BJD’s hand and urged him to take stringent action against all those who attacked its Bhanjanagar worker on June 14.
A party’s representative team led by MlA Pradeep Purohit submitted a memorandum to the DGP in this regard.
“Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh’s brother and Aska Cooperative Society president Biren Arukh along with six associates went to Bhanjanagar BJP Mandal worker Rajendra Kumar Pradhan’s house in the night of June 14. They abused Rajendra’s wife in filthy language and thrashed Rajendra severely,” the team apprised the top cop quoting the complaint lodged by Rajendra’s wife Sushama.
They further apprised that the police rushed Rajendra to the hospital, but arrested him the next day on the complaint of Biren Arukh.
“It is proved that the police are taking action on the basis of BJD leaders’ complaints and are not with the general people. The police should act impartially to provide protection to people,” the team alleged and demanded that action be taken against Biren and his associates on the basis of Sushma’s complaint.
