In a major embarrassment to the Nabarangpur police, a constable of the district allegedly misbehaved with a married woman in the presence of her husband in an inebriated state in Umarkote town on Sunday night.
According to reports, the woman and her husband were having Gupchup at the Old Bus Stand in Umarkote at around 9 pm when constable Suresh Patra, who was posted at the Naka police outpost inaugurated four days ago, misbehaved with her.
“The constable came near my wife and asked for her mobile phone number besides making lewd gesture at her,” the husband of the woman said.
The cop, who was allegedly drunk, also scolded some locals who opposed his act. Bringing further embarrassment for the department, the constable also danced on road. The entire episode was recorded by several locals on their mobile phones.
