A week after the IIC of Biramitrapur police station in Sundargarh district was arrested in connection with the rape and abortion of a minor girl, another cop has been arrested in Ganjam district for betraying a woman after keeping physical relationship with her on assurance of marriage.
This has been reported from Bhejiput under the Khallikote police limits. The accused police officer Tuna Pidika, posted at the Bhejiput police outpost, was arrested on Tuesday.
As per a complaint, Pidika had developed intimacy with the woman of Bhubaneswar on the pretext of marrying her. But he later refused to marry her. When the victim got to know about the cop being engaged with another woman, she went to the police outpost to meet him. However, the cop allegedly misbehaved with her.
