Vigilance officials on Wednesday raided the office and houses of Assistant Registrar of Dhenkanal Cooperative Societies Bidyadhar Behera on the charges of acquisition and possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The officials searched his residential house at Kalarahanga and a 2-BHK flat at Astik Residency at Patia in Bhubaneswar, a house at his native place at Kumbharia in the Bhandaripokhari area in Bhadrak district and his office chamber at Dhenkanal.
On the day, Vigilance officials also raided multiple places in connection with an allegation against Brajarajnagar Municipality Executive Officer Dilip Patel regarding possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
They conducted raids at Patel’s Government quarters, office, parental house in Sundargarh, a house owned by him at Badheimunda in Jharsuguda, in-laws’ house at Kalobahal in Sundargarh and an under-construction fuel station at Samasingha.
Till last reports received, the amounts of their properties had not been ascertained.
