A digital demonstration against contractual system of employment being staged by the Odisha Government Contractual Employees Association here entered the tenth day on Monday.
“It is very difficult for a contractual employee to manage his family with a monthly salary of Rs 8,880 only. While different States have executed ‘equal pay for equal work’ as per Supreme Court order, the Odisha Government has merely increased the salary by 25 per cent. While contractual teachers are serving people as Covid warriors, the Government is not giving CL and EL to them. Even salaries for six months are not being paid on the plea of HRMS,” alleged Association president Bijay Malla.
