Containment restrictions in Cuttack lifted

Published on:

Containment zone restrictions imposed in Pattapole area of Cuttack city were lifted on Monday following all samples of primary contacts and symptomatic cases from the zone tested negative for the virus.

Since all the samples of primary contacts and symptomatic cases from the containment zone have tested negative, it is hence understood that there is no local transmission in the zone,” an official order said.

However, regular restrictions of lockdown would prevail till further orders in the area of Pattapole, the order added.

The locality was sealed and declared as a ‘containment zone’ for active surveillance after a person of the area tested positive for COVID-19.

Similarly, containment restrictions imposed on ward No.1 of Jairampur gram panchayat (GP) in Nischintakoili tehsil and ward No. 12 and 13 of Mirzapur GP in Salepur tehsil in Cuttack district were withdrawn on the day, an official order said.

The two areas were earlier sealed and declared as ‘containment zone’ to restrict novel coronavirus transmission as a COVID-19 patient of Jajpur district had visited the localities. Decision regarding lifting of the restriction was taken as samples of the primary contacts and symptomatic cases from the containment zone have tested negative.

However, the regular restrictions of lockdown would prevail strictly as per Government notification in the said areas, the order said.
