State-level consultation on ‘Issues of minority women’ was held here on Monday. State Women and Child Development Department is in the process of formulating an Odisha State Policy for Girl Child and Women while the United Nations Population Fund is partnering with the department.
Highlighting issues of vulnerable women, participants emphasised on the need to sensitise policymakers and orient the policy towards a need based direction. SRCW advisor Dr Amrita Patel, Sailabala Women’s College Prinicpal Roshnara Begum and lalitha Misssal of NAWO attended programme and shared views.
