Construction workers on Monday staged a demonstration in front of the labour Commissioner’s Office here demanding financial assistance to build house, pension, insurance and other facilities. Under the banner of the Odisha Construction Workers’ Federation (OCWF) affiliated to the CITU, the workers led by OCWF general secretary Nabakishore Mohanty came in a procession starting from Master Canteen to the commissioner’s office.
Mohanty said the State Government need to take appropriate steps to identify construction workers of the State in order to provide them facilities. later, Mohanty along with leaders Satyananda Behera and Suresh Routray submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the labour Commissioner urging fulfillment of demands of the construction workers.
