A 19- year-old physically-challenged girl was allegedly raped by a police Constable in Mayurbhanj district on Thursday night when she was alone at her residence.
While the girl’s mother had gone to her parents’ house at Jashipur, her father, also a police Constable, was on Covid-19 duty at Baripada.
Police have registered a case under Sections 376 and 511 of IPC against the accused Constable, whose suspension has been ordered by Mayurbhanj Superintendent of Police Smit Parmar.
The medical examinations of both the accused and the victim were conducted at a Government hospital, police said.
