The Pattamundai police on Monday arrested a black conjurer on the charge of outraging the modesty of a married woman.
According to police, Umesh Das (46) of Matia village allegedly outraged the modesty of the wife of Amiya Das of Naganpur village under the Patkura police station on the pretext to ward off evil spirits from her body.
“The victim with her relatives had gone to the house of the accused on Sunday evening to ward off evil spirit from her body. later, the accused Umesh allegedly asked the woman to come to his room alone for puja and asked her to take off her clothes. When the woman undressed, the conjurer allegedly outraged her modesty,” said Pattamundai police station IIC Baruni Das. Meanwhile, the accused was produced before the local JMFC court.
