Hundreds of Congress workers, party office bearers of district, block and panchayat levels participated in the a massive rally which began from Bagal Dharmshala and went to the Returning Officers’ office on Monday accompanying Sucharita Mohanty who filed her nomination papers for the Puri Parliament seat on Congress ticket.
Sucharita is the daughter of late Congress leader and former Minister Brajmohan Mohanty. She is a senior journalist of a Delhi-based leading national English daily. Manasi Pradhan, member of the National Commission for Women and former MlA Umaballav Rath were present.
Satyabadi MlA Prasad Harichandan came in motor cycle rally from Satyabadi along with hundreds of Congress workers and filed his papers for Satyabadi Assembly seat.BJP’s Amruta Jena filed papers for Brahmagiri Assembly seat. He is the son of former BJD leader Ajay Kumar Jena.
BJP women wing leader Pravati Parida filed papers for the Nimapara Assembly seat while Dr Biswaranjan Mohanty filed nominations as Congress candidate for Nimapada Assembly constituency. Earlier, Umaballav Rath had filed his papers as Congress nominee for Puri Assembly seat, while Krushna Chandra Panda had filed papers for Puri seat as BJP candidate. Subash Chandra Baral filed nomination papers as SUCI candidate for Pipili seat.
