The Congress on Monday staged a demonstration here protesting against Pegasus spyware scandal and burnt effigies of Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Members of the party led by district president Biswajit Das shouted slogans against the Modi Government for spying on prominent Opposition leaders, mediapersons, retired judges, social activists, industrialists and eminent persons, including former AICC president Rahul Gandhi.
The party leaders alleged that the BJP Government is trying to snoop Rahul Gandhi as he has constantly been questioning the Modi Government on its misdeeds.
Among the leaders who participated in the demonstration were PCC president Niranjan Ptaniak, former president Sarat Pattanayak, Sivanada Ray, Manoranjan Das and Yasir Nawaj.
