Congress members on Wednesday staged demonstrations at district headquarters across the State protesting the increasing crimes against women and minor girls.
Led by Jatni MLA Suresh Routray, many party members demonstrated in front of the office of the ADM here holding party flags and placards.
The agitators also shouted various slogans against the State Government.
Similar scenes were also witnessed at various district headquarters in the State as party leaders and workers agitated before the district Collectorates.
Routray, in his reaction, lashed out at the Chief Minister and termed the State Government an ‘incapable’ one for failing to maintain law and order.
He urged the Government to tackle the rising crimes against women and minor girls proactively. He warned if the same situation continued the Congress would be forced to intensify its agitation.
The party members also submitted memorandum to the district Collectors in this regard after the demonstrations.
