The district Congress on Friday filed a complaint against Nabarangpur Collector Rashmita Panda for alleged forcible collection of funds for the Aahaar Society of the district.
A delegation of the Congress led by former MP Pradeep Majhi and
former MlA Sadan Nayak filed the complaint at the Town police station stating that funds on the plea of Chanda (contributions) are being forcibly collected from millers, traders, contractors of the district. This must not be allowed as such collection is totally prohibited.
Majhi said, “The Collector’s act of demanding Chanda for the Aahaar centres of Nabarangpur, Kosagumuda and Umarkote is illegal. We demand stringent action be taken against the Collector for violation of law.
