A delegation of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) led by vice-president Shibananda Ray met Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh on Sunday and submitted a memorandum demanding a impartial probe to reveal the truth behind BJD Zilla Parishad (ZP) Member Dharmendra Sahoo’s death.
The delegation demanded that as the case Investigating Officer of Dahauli police station is a native of Nimapara and he has good relations with political leaders, he should removed from the investigation of the sensitive case. Besides, many of the posts made by Sahoo in Facebook have been deleted.
The DCP immediately directed to remove the concerned IO from the investigative team and also directed the deceased’s mobile phones to be sent for forensic test.
Besides, the team said that as media reports are alleging the role of some ruling party MLAs and Ministers in Sahoo’s death, an impartial probe should be conducted. The DCP assured the delegation that an impartial probe would be held.
