Congress demands free vaccine for all citizens

Demanding universalisation of vaccination, one-crore  daily vaccination  and free-of-cost vaccine for all, the State Congress on Friday submitted a memorandum  to the President of India through the Governor and staged a placard show in front of the Raj Bhavan. Senior party leaders, including PCC working president Pradeep Majhi, newly-appointed AICC secretary and MP Saptagiri Ulaka and MLAs Suresh Routray and Mohammad Moquim earlier held a Press conference holding both Central and State Governments responsible for the increasing Covid cases. “While Rahul Gandhi time and again warned the Modi Government to take early action, the Union Government didn’t pay heed to it and the BJP leaders were rather busy in the West Bengal elections. When many countries in the world including the US have achieved targeted vaccination, India is far behind with only 3.2% (21 crore) people having been covered,” said Ulaka.

The Naveen Patnaik Government all along supported the Centre and now the CM has written letters to all States for support on vaccination drive. “Why Naveen didn’t speak to Modi on vaccination when he was in Odisha,” questioned Majhi.
