The Congress on Monday slammed the State Government for ordering Crime Branch probe into the brutal murder of BJD leader Abhimanyu Sahu at Titlagarh and demanded a CBI inquiry instead.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday ordered for a Crime Branch into the ghastly killing of Sahu.
Addressing a Press conference here, Senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra said the CB can’t establish the truth behind the murder. “The Crime Branch had been asked to conduct investigation into many cases but it is yet to establish a single case,” he said. Citing an example of failures of the CB, Mishra said while more than two years have passed, the killing of Balangir student is yet to be established.
“Keeping inefficiency of the CB, the Congress demands CBI inquiry into Amarnath Sahu’s murder case. The CBI can only bring the real culprits to the fore,” he said.
Mishra suspected that Sahu might have been killed due to the internal infighting in the ruling BJD. He further alleged that the law and order situation in Balangir has deteriorated drastically. The police administration has failed to nab
the culprits.
