For the second time in last five days, unidentified miscreants ransacked the Congress Bhawan here late on Saturday night. Flower vases kept in the premises of the State Congress office as well as window glasses of the building were broken.
CCTV cameras installed at the buidling were also damaged.
Meanwhile, Chhatra Congress State president Itish Pradhan said no activists of the students’ wing were involved in the accident.
“No Chhtara Congress activist will cause any damage to the Congress Bhawan. The damage of the flower vases and window glasses must be a conspiracy hatched by some groups to defame the Congress party,” said Pradhan.
Maintaining that this kind of evil act cannot be tolerated, Pradhan said the Chhatra Congress would lodge a police complaint in connection with the incident.
“Visuals captured by the CCTVs installed in the premises of the Congress Bhawan would be handed over to police for probe,” said Pradhan.
Notably, the Chhatra Congress was under suspicion following the incident on November 9 when several leaders of it shouted slogans after barging into a hotel room here where party Odisha in-charge BK Hariprasad was holding talks with PCC president Prasad Harichandan and other senior State party leaders.
