Youth Congress members showed black flags at Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Giriraj Singh near the Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC) here on Saturday.
Protesting against Singh’s anti-Jawaharlal Nehru statement here on Friday, the Youth Congress members led by lokanath Maharathy waved black flags at Singh when he was leaving the CTTC by his car after attending a programme there.
They also tried to intercept the Minister’s vehicle but were stopped by police.
“We will protest visit of any Union Minister to Odisha,” said lokanath Maharathy, Youth Congress president.
Notably, the incident occurred a day after Singh blamed “the faulty policies” of Jawaharlal Nehru for people not being skilled in the country. The Minister was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a national conference on “Youth and Employment: The role of skill India Initiative” here on Friday.
