Cong workers ransack Puri Cesu office

Published on:
Hundreds of Congress activists, including women, led by District Congress Committee president Sarath Rath on Wednesday stormed into the local Cesu office and ransacked it.
They demanded scrapping of the Cesu- Fedco deal, which, they said, is illegal. They also demanded rollback of the enhanced power tariff at the earliest and to stop forcible collection of electricity bills and the drive for disconnection of power connections.
It may be noted that recently the Cesu has entered into a deal with an outside company to collect bills, grant new connections and provide meters to its consumers. The company is charging high power tariff, which is being strongly opposed by the consumers.
