The State Congress on Monday observed the 130th foundation day of the party and took a vow to fight against the ruling BJD’s failure of governance, scam and
corruption.
“We are committed to continue our fight against the BJD Government’s failure in all fronts. We will tell people the reality about mine, coal and chit fund scams and rampant poverty and unemployment in the State,” said PCC president Prasad Harichandan after unfurling the party flag at its State headquarters here in the presence of senior leaders like Srikant Jena and Niranjan Patnaik.
Harichandan also informed that the party would continue its fight to protect the interest of the farmers’ community in the State.
He too highlighted the objectives of the 130 year-old-party and its achievements.
“The Congress party was established by Oomes Chandra Banerjee and Surendra Nath Banerjee with only 72 members at a small building of the Gokul Das Tejpal Sanskrit College in Bombay to fight against the British rule,” recalled Harichandan.
Many senior party leaders attended the celebration which was observed in a low-key manner. On Monday, Harichandan too completed a year as the PCC chief.
