Cong to stage demos in dist HQs on Nov 29

The Congress on Tuesday said it would stage demonstrations at all the district headquarters from 10 am to 2 pm on November 29 demanding Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s resignation and criminal proceedings against him vis-à-vis chit fund scam. “We will stage demonstrations in all district headquarters with three demands. We want the CBI to start an investigation against the Chief Minister and initiate criminal proceedings against him in relation to the chit fund scam. We also demand that the Chief Minister resign from his post on moral grounds,” leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra told a Press conference here.

He alleged that the ruling BJD members have made a plan not to let the Assembly run in order to avoid any discussion on the chit fund scam. “Whatever pleas they may make to avoid discussion on the chit fund scam, neither we will spare the Government nor the Chief Minister will be let off the this scam net,” Mishra said.

Among others, PCC president Jayadev Jena, party deputy leader in the Assembly Chiranjib Biswal and all Congress MlAs were present.

Besides, Mishra also demanded that the properties of those who are being caught in the ponzi scam be confiscated and the amount be paid to the duped depositors.
