Opposition Congress on Tuesday said it would raise breakdown of law and order, irregularity in NFSA ration cards distribution and farmer suicide cases in the ongoing Budget Session of the Assembly to take on the Government.
“Many issues are there to take on the State Government. We will raise law and order, ration card and farmer suicide issues in the Assembly,” Opposition Chief Whip Taraprasad Bahinipati told reporters after the Congress legislature Party meeting held in the Assembly premises.
The ClP meeting was presided over by leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra and attended by its all MlAs, including Naba Das.
Bahinpati said his party would raise the issue of Sanakhemundi MlA Ramesh Jena, who, he said, has been arrested in fake cases. Similarly, the party would want to know why no action has been taken against the BJD MlAs who have links with notorious Dhalsamant brothers, Sushant and Sushil.
“All the BJD leaders ranging from ward members to city Corporators and Mayors have grabbed the NFSA ration cards while common people have been deprived of. We will raise this issue,” said Bahinipati.
He said many farmer suicides have committed suicide as the Government has failed to provide them due support. Besides, drinking water problem has been acute in many parts of the State. All these issues would be raised on behalf of his party, he said.
