The Congress on Monday staged a protest in front of the Governor’s House here, demanding “protection of democracy” in Rajasthan.

“The BJP Government at the Centre has been creating problems in the Congress-ruled States. It has been trying to break democratically-elected Congress Governments. In Rajasthan, the BJP is trying break the Government by offering huge amounts of money and Ministerial posts ,” alleged PCC president Niranjan Patnaik.

He further alleged that the Governor of Rajasthan is also working undemocratically at the behest of the BJP. “It is undemocratic that a Governor doesn’t accept a proposal of convening State Assembly, and this has happened in Rajsthan,” said Patnaik.

Among others, PCC working president Pradeep Majhi, former PCC presidents Jayadeb Jena, Sharat Patnaik and Prasad Harichandan, MLAs Suesh Kumar Routray and Tara Prasad Bahinipati and former Finance Minister Panchanan Kanungo were present.
