Opposition Congress on Friday demanded passing of a Censure Motion in the State Assembly against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not responding to an Assembly Committee’s repeated requests for a meeting for placing of the paddy MSP resolution unanimously passed during the last session of the House.
“The committee headed by the Speaker has many times written to the Prime Minister’s Office seeking an appointment with him to place the paddy MSP resolution passed in the State Assembly last session. But the PMO office has not responded yet. This non-response is disrespect to 4.20 crore people of the State and to this august House as well. Hence another resolution should be passed to condemn the Prime Minister and his office,” demanded leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra after the House reassembled at 3 pm.
He too demanded that an all-party meeting be convened forthwith to discuss the issue raised by him.
Mishra too slammed the ruling BJD for disrupting the Question Hour and stalling the House raising paddy MSP issue when the Oppostion had brought an Adjournment Motion on the subject which was allowed for discussion by the Speaker.
Similarly, Congress Chief Whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati and Dr Prafull Majhi d convening an all-party meeting to hold a discuss Mishra’s proposal for passing a censure motion against the PM.
However, BJP MlA Pradeep Purohit said the Prime Minister has all support to the farmers but the State Government has failed to protect the interest of farmers.
Though Speaker Pradeep Kumar Amat said the Adjournment Motion on paddy MSP would be discussed in the House on Monday, yet Congress members rushed into the Well of the House demanding for an all-party meeting to hold a discuss on Mishra’s proposal.
Unable to run the House, Amat adjourned the House from 3.33 pm till 4.03 pm and again till Monday.
