The Congress on Tuesday alleged that the BJD Government which is in power for two decades has utterly failed to establish new PHCs or CHCs and is even unable to fill up vacancies in hospitals.
So, how would the Government reach the target of enrolling 3.5 crore beneficiaries under Biju Swasthy Kalyan Yojana and provide smart cards to them, asked the party.
Party spokesperson Manoj Mohapatra said the recent announcement of the Chief Minister to provide smart cards is nothing but to hoodwink people as the scheme was a reincarnation of the one announced in August 2018.
The party leaders asked that while 183 registered private hospitals, all Government hospitals of the State, District Headquarters Hospitals and Government medical college hospitals are enlisted in the scheme to provide free health facilities to more than 70 lakh families up to 5 lakh for males and 10 lakh for females and the Government has already spent Rs 3,000 crore during the last three years,
how many people have been benefitted by the scheme? The answer given by the Government in the State Assembly on Maach 15 is quit intriguing, said they.
