Congress leader and former Union Minister Srikant Jena on Friday said public outrage against gross mismanagement of Brahma Parivartan affairs in Puri was spontaneous and hence, the bandh called by Congress got overwhelming support. He said the fiasco in the Puri shrine immensely hurt the sentiments of the people of Odisha and all Jagannath lovers across the globe.“The Congress never politicized any religious event. On the other hand, the BJD Ministers and leaders tried to gain political mileage out of the lord’s rituals. One was found in the camp of Sabarpalli, while another was seen in the attire of a Daita during the Daru Sagadi movement. There should be a through probe into the issue and culprits should be brought to book,” demanded Jena.
